Open Faced Steak Sandwiches

Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp. (30mL) Mrs. Dash® Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend
  • 1/2 cup (120mL) red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. (15mL) olive oil
  • 12 Oz. (336g) flank steak
  • 4 slices Italian bread
  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60mL) low sodium beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp. (15mL) Worcestershire sauce
Directions
  • 1. Add Mrs. Dash® Garlic and Herb, red wine vinegar, and olive oil to a sealable plastic bag.
  • 2. Place steak in bag, seal, turn several times and refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours.
  • 3. When ready to cook, preheat broiler.
  • 4. Toast bread under broiler until lightly browned.
  • 5. Remove and arrange on plates.
  • 6. Place marinated steak on grill pan, and grill for 5 to 6 minutes on each side, do not overcook.
  • 7. Meanwhile, combine onion, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce in small saucepan, simmering until onions are soft, about 10 minutes.
  • 8. Remove steak from oven, let sit a few minutes and slice across the grain as thin as possible.
  • 9. Divide sliced steak evenly over the toasted bread, top with onions and serve immediately.
