Can Can Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 Tbsp. (45mL) Mrs. Dash® Tomato Basil Garlic Seasoning Blend, divided
- 1 whole chicken, 4 to 5 lbs (2-2.5 kilo)
- 2 tsp (10mL) olive oil
- 12 oz (336mL) can of beer
Directions:
- Remove giblets and fat from inside the chicken. Clean, wash and pat chicken dry with paper towel.
- Sprinkle 1 Tbsp. (15mL) Mrs. Dash® Tomato Basil Garlic inside body cavity of chicken.
- Rub outside of chicken with light layer of olive oil, then rub remaining Mrs. Dash® Tomato Basil Garlic all over outside of chicken.
- Open can of beer and pour out half.
- Pre-heat barbecue grill to 450°F (230°C).
- Holding the chicken upright with the opening of the body cavity down, set the chicken down onto the half-full beer can. Place chicken on indirect heat on barbecue grill.
- Place the legs of the chicken off to the side to form a tripod, which will help support the body on top of the can. Close barbecue lid and roast for approximately 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the bird from the grill using tongs.
- Let stand 5 minutes before carving.
- Note: This recipe can also be prepared in your kitchen oven in a 450°F (230°C) oven. Place the can with chicken on a cookie sheet.

I have been making this recipe for a year with a combinations of Mrs Dash seasonings. The combination of Garlic & Herb with the Chicken Blend are fabulous on the chicken!
