Let your tastebuds take a trip with the robust and romantic flavors of sautéed onion, succulent shrimp and Mrs. Dash® Extra Spicy Seasoning Blend. Serve this combination over rice with fresh lemon slices for a satisfyingly savory meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb (500g) large shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • 1 Tbsp. (15mL) Mrs. Dash® Original Blend
  • 1 Tbsp. (15mL) unsalted butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. (15mL) cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) Spanish onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup (120mL) red onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. (15mL) Mrs. Dash® Extra Spicy Seasoning Blend
Directions:
  1. Dry shrimp with paper towel and sprinkle with Mrs. Dash® Original Blend.
  2. Add butter to large skillet, heat to bubbling, add garlic and shrimp and saute for 3 to 4 minutes or until shrimp are opaque.
  3. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add cooking oil and saute onions until tender.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and season with Mrs. Dash® Extra Spicy to taste.
  6. Cook over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, 3 to 5 minutes.
  7. Add shrimp and heat for 1 minute.
  8. Serve over rice garnished with fresh lemon slices.
  9. Note: 40% of calores from fat.
