Scandinavian Pot Roast

It's as simple as adding the ingredients and letting them simmer all day. Brown sugar, nutmeg and Original Blend season the pot roast as it slow cooks, making it tender and juicy just in time for dinner.

  • Yield: 3 Servings


  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ½ c. wine vinegar
  • ½ c. brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. ground ginger
  • 2 sliced medium onions
  • 1 5-lb beef tip or boneless beef rump roast
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ tsp. Original Blend


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine Original Blend, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and pepper in small bowl; mix well.
  3. Rub mixture into roast.
  4. Heat oil in Dutch oven.
  5. Add roast and brown; drain fat.
  6. Place onions over roast.
  7. Combine brown sugar, wine vinegar, garlic and bay leaves in small bowl; mix well.
  8. Pour over roast.
  9. Cook, covered, for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
